Alphakoara

Alphakoara is a privileged, private place. Only 150 meters from the main road between Cotonou and Niamey, from December to May, a unique spectacle awaits travellers to the park. From 4pm onwards, entire families of elephants regroup around a pond to wash, to drink, to play.

An observation tower placed strategically near the pond will allow you to observe them in a peaceful and secure manner. Antelopes and different species of
monkeys also join them. You'll be able to complete your visit by stopping by the visitor's centre, and a locally-run restaurant will provide tastes of local food and culture. You'll be able to spend the night at a local guesthouse, returning to the pond for an unforgettable sight: elephants playing in the water under the moonlight.
