What should I bring along

Never pack your bagage to complicated and never make it to heavy. Due to limited space it is very difficult to transport large bags or suitcases in a four by four.

However, there are certain important items you should not forget!

Always carry along:

• A valid passport
• with valid visas
• A copy of the visa and one of the passport and store it seperately from other travel documents
• Cash in CFA and if possible euros or dollars
• Documents of your travel insurance
• and always keep your flight ticket in a safe place
• Due to national regulations of the three countries you should always take along your certificate for yellow fever vaccination and your vaccination booklet.

Western africa has a very hot climate, so it is very usefull to wear comfortable and light clothing.

Most of the visitors wear linen pants and T-shirts during the day and bring along a pullover or a jacket for the colder evenings.

During day time the sun can be quite agressive so people with a responsiveness to intensive sun should protect themselves with long sleaves and a hat, which is also usefull for everybody on foot safaries.

The nights in the park are quite comfortable most of the year. A long sleave shirt or light pullover protect against the moskitos. Between December and March the north wind (Harmattan) strke the park and the night can be pretty cold (10°-15°C).

It is always important to keep silent and discrete during the safaries in the park, never derange animals your are observing. Your clothing should not be to colorfull, beige, khaki, olive or brown are the best colors for your clothing on safari. Shiny colors as red or orange can irritate animals.
