Arriving at W park.

Even though you can reach Park W through Benin Burkina Faso and Niger, the closest international airport is in Niamey, Niger's capital city. From Benin, the main entrances to the park are a day's drive north of Benin's largest city and main airport, in Cotonou, near a town called Kandi. There are comfortable hotels in Kandi, and from there you will also be able to organise a visit to the park and book accomodation:

There are three main entrances near Kandi; the first and most important, Alphakoara, is 40 km north of Kandi on the main national road.

The second entrance, Sampeto, is close to the Chutes de Koudou eco lodge; the final entrance, in Kofonou, is 15 km away from Karimana, a small town on the Niger river.

The entrance to the park in Burkina Faso is a five hour drive from the capital Ouagadougou. After reaching Diapaga, the main town immediately before the park, you will find the Kabougou gate.

Niger's capital, Niamey, is only two hours away from Park W's main entrance at Tapoa Gate. Several direct flights a week from Europe, North Africa or other African cities land at Niamey International Airport, including Air France and Royal Air Maroc flights.
